Saturday 25 July 2026 WWII Day - Histortical Society Once again we had the Sampford Historical Society in to help us deliver a fantastic World War II Evacuee Experience Day. Clive, Heather and Peter used their expert knowledge to teach the children about the beginning of the war and what that meant for millions of children in Britain. Each child was then matched up with an actual evacuee who came to Sampford Peverell and then Cliveled us on a tour of the village to show the children where 'they' lived.

Wednesday 22 July 2026 Bee Club We are very lucky to have our local beekeeper, Mrs Danby, come in to deliver a weekly club all about beekeeping. The children have visited the local hive in the churchyard - putting on beekeeping suits and learning how to safely smoke the bees; dicected a bee pupa to look at the different stages of a bee's life; sampled different types of honey; learnt how to spin honey and bottle it (which the children then ate!); and even built their own hive.

Monday 13 July 2026 Local Roman Villa We are so privileged to have a Roman villa being excavated within walking distance of our school. 3 years ago we were invited to the potential site after some Roman tesserae were discovered by a local farmer.

Monday 29 June 2026 Sports Week and Sports Day Each year we have a Sports Week which is a week dedicated to sport, physical activites and looking after our bodies. The children completed activities such as: hockey, tag rugby, golf, baseball, cricket, circuit training, first aid and many others.

Friday 24 April 2026 Year 5 London Residential - Day 3 Our final day in London - capped off with a visit to the Natural History Museum.

Thursday 23 April 2026 Year 5 London Residential - Day 2 Day 3 continued with many sightseeing opportunities as well as taking in a West End show!

Wednesday 22 April 2026 Year 5 London Residential - Day 1 The children in Year 5 have the opportunity to go on a residential to London. One day one the children caught the train to Reading and then were off to Harry Potter Studios.

Monday 20 April 2026 Exmoor Challenge Practice Walk - Reverse 13 children from Year 6 completed the 16 mile Exmoor Challenge final practice. It is a fantastic achievement to perservere and show grit and determination to complete the course.

Thursday 2 April 2026 PTFA Easter Egg and Scavenger Hunt The PTFA organised an Easter Egg and Scavenger Hunt for all of the children to participate in.

Wednesday 1 April 2026 Oak Gymnastics Spring 2026 The children have thoroughly enjoyed having our gymnastics coach in each week this half term. They've tried out lots of different equipment and learnt lots of different skills.
