Cedar & Oak trip to the Tiverton Canal

Oak and Cedar had a fantastic time at the Tiverton Canal. We managed to dodge the showers in the morning during our barge ride up the canal where we spotted loads of ducks (including some ducklings). On the way back, we watched closely for the kingfisher that our skipper Dave had spotted but didn't manage to catch a glimpse of it. After lunch, Jo the canal ranger, guided us through pond dipping - we found some tadpoles and even a newt! We also went hunting for minibeasts and created micro habitats for them from natural materials.

Cedar & Oak trip to the Tiverton Canal

Cedar Class and Oak Class enjoyed a fantastic trip to Tiverton Canal, where they experienced travelling on a traditional horse-drawn barge. In the afternoon, the children worked with Ranger Jo, taking part in pond dipping and mini beast hunting. It was a fabulous day, and the children thoroughly enjoyed every moment of their adventure.
